Products
A product item is what you sell: a product or a service. The Products section holds their catalog, a tree-structured directory where each item has a price, cost price, SKU, supplier and stock balance. From here, items are inserted into documents and deals, and the price together with the cost price is used to calculate profit.
The catalog opens from the top menu, the Products tile.

- Build the section tree and create items
- Fill in the product card
- Add custom fields to an item
- Insert products into a document and a deal
Item catalog
The section tree is on the left, and the list of items in the selected section is on the right. Settings, field selection, search, tags and the Add button work the same way as in the other services.
How to create an item
- Build the section tree on the left. This is where to start in an empty catalog: "Products", "Services" and other groups; nesting is not limited to one level.
- Select the group the item will go into.
- Click Add on the right and fill in the product card.
The New section button under the tree creates another group, and you can always change an item's section right in its card.

The price and cost price from the card are used to calculate profit in a deal.
The "Additional" tab
As in the other services, this is where you create your own unique fields and directories for the item: Custom fields and Custom directories.
Products in other sections
The catalog is not an isolated directory: it is used wherever money is calculated.

Inventory management, that is stock balances, receipts and shipments, is kept separately from the catalog, in the Warehouse section.
