Microphone permission

A microphone is required when connecting telephony.

Microphone access permission in the browser

When you first sign in to the WorkZeal application, your browser asks for permission to connect the microphone to the application. Please allow it. This is a mandatory condition for your IP telephony to work.

Note

When working on a laptop, we recommend using a headset rather than the built-in microphone for better speech quality.

What to do if you accidentally blocked it and need to fix that?

Microphone settings in Google Chrome

Direct link to the browser settings: chrome://settings/content/microphone

Remove the site from the blocked list. Then sign in to our application again and allow the microphone connection.

Choosing a device

In the browser address bar, in the upper right corner, click the Camera icon (it also controls the microphone) and make sure the correct device is selected in the Microphone section. If the wrong microphone is listed, click Manage.

In the browser's microphone settings, select the one you need.

Tip

Apply this setting on all pages of our application where telephony is used: CRM, Email, Chat, Documents, Finance.

Error

If the following message appears when you make a call:

Alert

Your microphone is blocked. Check microphone access for this page. Refresh the page after enabling access!

Check the first 2 points of this guide: Microphone access permission and Choosing a device.

If the message persists, we recommend checking that your equipment, the headset, is working correctly.

To do this, launch any third-party application, such as WhatsApp or Skype, or use a third-party website for testing the microphone online. If the microphone is faulty, the headset should be replaced. It is a consumable and the piece of equipment that breaks most often.
