Telegram

This integration lets you receive messages from your clients on Telegram inside WorkZeal: the conversation happens in the chat, and the full history of every conversation is saved in the client card.
Clients write to your company's bot, not to an employee's personal number. So the connection has two parts: first you create a bot in Telegram and get its token, then you paste the token into WorkZeal.
What you can do
Create a Telegram bot
Bots in Telegram are created by the service bot @botfather.
- Follow the link Telegram, or find the user named @botfather in Telegram and click Send message.
- Send the command for creating a new bot to the chat with @botfather: /newbot.
- Enter the name of the bot. Clients will see it while chatting. For example, Acme Support.
- Specify a username for the bot. Your clients will use it to find the bot and write to you.
Warning
The username must end with "bot", for example, Name_bot or Acme_bot.
Get the Telegram API token
After the fourth step, @botfather sends a message with the API token. Copy it: you need it to connect the Telegram channel to WorkZeal.
Warning
The token is the key to the bot: anyone who has it can read messages and reply on behalf of your company. Do not forward it in open chats and do not publish it.
Connect
- In WorkZeal, open Settings → All integrations → Messengers → Telegram.
- Paste the API token you received into the Token field.
Now your clients can write to your bot in Telegram, and their messages arrive directly in WorkZeal, in the external chat.
Tell clients where to write
The bot has a public link like t.me/Acme_bot, with the username you set when creating it. Clients can also find the bot through search in Telegram.
- Place the link on your website next to your other messengers and in your email signature.
- Add it to printed materials, invoices, and packaging.
