Yandex
Yandex does not let third-party programs into the mailbox with the regular email password. For WorkZeal to receive and send messages, you need to complete three steps: allow IMAP access, create an app password, and connect the account with that password.
Step 1. Allow IMAP access
In the Yandex Mail settings, open: the gear icon — All settings — Other — Email clients.
Enable two settings:
- From the imap.yandex.ru server via IMAP: specifically IMAP, not POP3.
- IMAP authorization method: App passwords and OAuth tokens.

Step 2. Create an app password
The email password will not work for the connection. WorkZeal needs a separate app password.
- Sign in to your Yandex account https://passport.yandex.ru/profile
- Open Passwords and authorization — App passwords — Create.
- Copy the password: it is shown only once and cannot be viewed again.

Step 3. Connect the account in WorkZeal
In WorkZeal, open Settings — Email — Add — Yandex, enter your email login and the app password from step 2, and click Continue.
If something went wrong
When you enter the login and password, an error appears:

Meaning: authentication error on the SMTP server. The server rejected the authentication data sent by the client. The server responded: authentication failed: this user does not have access rights to this service.
This happens when IMAP access is already allowed in the Yandex account, but an app password for WorkZeal has not been created, or the regular email password was entered in the password field. Go back to step 2, create an app password, and enter it in the WorkZeal email settings.
